It's a fact that septic tank emergencies are often preventable.
It's a fact that we should have had ours pumped before now.
It's a fact that it's a bit stressful to have 11 persons needing a bathroom and a shower that aren't available.(Grandma is staying with us.)
It's a fact that you REALLY don't want to have your septic tank back up into your bathtubs and showers.
It's a fact that God provides for every need in our lives, and His hand is in every detail!
It's a fact that we started having trouble on a Saturday night and weren't able to get things fixed until that Wednesday.
It's a fact that our church is 5 minutes down the road, and it was a blessing to travel there late at night in the cold.
It's a fact that God was very merciful, and we were able to use the toilets and showers very minimally during the day!
It's a fact that our inability to pay someone to come out on an emergency basis forced us to beg God for mercy more diligently and then know the blessing of watching Him provide!
It's a fact that our kitchen sink worked perfectly, and we were spared that complication.
It's a fact that our dear Pastor was ready to help however he could, and he and his dear daughter blessed us with delicious confections to ease the stress.
It's a fact that our tank wasn't damaged from the stress, and that we do need to expand our "waste facilities." :)
It's a fact that, as one who avoids excessive use of bleach, I've never been so thankful for that germ-killing cleaner.
It's a fact that I've never been so delighted to be on my hands and knees scrubbing out bathtubs and showers.
It's a fact that God showed me how shallow my prayers can be when life is smooth sailing, and that I prayed harder for deliverance from a septic tank disaster than I do for the very souls of the ones I know and love. That stunk the most.
It's a fact that God blessed us with good weather the following week, which increased the ability for the drain field to dry out!
It's a fact that no one had a stomach virus while this was happening!
It's a fact that if you want to have a minute whiff of what our grumbling and complaining must smell like to the LORD, just stand outside on a very windy day while your septic tank is being pumped!
It's a fact that we deserved not an ounce of God's kindness, and yet, He provided for us over and over.
It's a fact that if you don't write these things down, you'll forget God's provision!
It's a fact that every event in our lives is an opportunity to be in awe of the LORD and His mercies and provision and give thanks.
With love,
Trisha
It's a fact that I didn't know
Larri wasn't doing Monday Facts anymore until the New Year, but that doesn't change the fact that all the above are facts. :)
Oh wow - what an adventure. Its a fact that I am now thankful city city sewer service :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, Trisha,I'm so sorry. But God doesn't waste any opportunities to teach us.
ReplyDelete(I just realized what I typed and no pun intended. :-))
We have been in septic nightmare town, too.
ReplyDeleteI totally know what you went through...yuk!
So glad it's over;)
Oh dear I am so sorry. I am glad that everything worked out ok and that your pastor and his daughter were there to help in any way! That is so wonderful to have that support. Once when my mom, dad, sister and grandma came at Christmas we had a terrible ice storm and it took out our power for 5 days. It was something to remember. It was a fact that I was so grateful for a fireplace to heat at least part of the house and a mini grill to cook on and heat water. God is good.
ReplyDeleteWould you please keep my sister in your prayers? It is a really long story but she had an aneurysm rupture two years ago and she shouldn't even still be here but God spared her life and she is a walking miracle. The problem is it cause a multitude of other health issues the newest being a spot on her stomach and ovary. They thought they might be scare tissue but when she went this week for another scan they have grown since her scan in July. She is supposed to find out today when they want to get her in to do further tests. My parents just got here 3 weeks ago to live for the winter and she is not married (in a relationship that we don't care for the man) and so she is there alone now. My mom is struggling with it (we just found out last night) and won't know anything for a few days at least, but depending on what it is and what has to happen may change their plans about staying here too. I am not sure if it is cancer that she could make it threw treatments because of her health.
I would just appreciate your prayers. My sister's whole life has been a series of health issues and my heart breaks for her. Her name is Jackie.
Thanks
Love you
Jill
Trisha, I'm so thankful you made it
ReplyDeletethrough that crisis. God is merciful. It would have been AWFUL
had I been out there at the time.GOD is good.
HUGS,
Memaw
ewwww! Although the picture is adorable!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great attitude Trisha
ReplyDeleteI will have to say that I was particularly convicted about the fact that we pray for things like septic tanks more than we do for the souls of those we love. Oh the things God will use :)
Oh no! I hate it when this happens! And I agree with Boo's face! ;)
ReplyDeleteI loved the fact about how our complaints smell like this to God! Ouch, ouch, ouch. but so very true. I think I needed to hear that today. Sometimes, I just need a little shake of the shoulder, or bonk on the head to realize I'm doing it all wrong! Thank you for this beautiful reminder. :)
I love you!
Trisha,
ReplyDeleteYour perspective always amazes me dear one!
Good for you, good list, and I hope your house facilities are, ahem, fully functional soon!
Blessings in and through the muck and mire(shall we say)
Sending Love,
Jojo
