The Toasts
Each of us offered a toast in honor of Mountain Man. I, of course, am so thankful for the simple and priceless joy of knowing true love with my Beloved. The other toasts praised MM for "being the funnest Dad ever" and for taking the boys along side him while doing home repairs.
Here's Reaches Up's, word for word: "I, Reaches Up (except he used his real name), propose a toast to my Daddy's hard work and love for us."
Whistler had this to say:
My Daddy is the best in the world,
He's someone you can't beat,
He works real hard
So we have something good to eat.
He's strong as a lion,
Brave as a bear,
And for his wife and his children,
He's always there.
The Gifts
A new and better harmonica or "harp" as he calls it
An anthology of John Buchan stories (one of his favorite authors)
A chair massage
Lunch at the Fat Squirrel Pub and Grill
Money!
