The opthamologist thinks Luke's eye is doing remarkably well and plans to see him in a month. The only concern is lack of ability to move the eye completely up as when looking up to the ceiling. She expects that to resolve itself over time.
Luke was able to be removed from the super antibiotic he was on, and all lab tests indicate that there were no negative effects from those!
So, we have much to be thankful for! Please continue to pray for complete healing and that we would soon know when we can take Luke home.
I also seem to be coming down with a sinus infection and would appreciate prayers for healing.
My Mom and Aunt will be leaving tomorrow, so we'll be enjoying last moments together today. They'll be seeing Luke in the morning and spending time with the rest of the children later today. It's been a bittersweet visit that I'm praying will still bring many precious memories to everyone as well as a multitude of praises to God for His mercies.
Because of an amazingly generous offer from our friends to keep all of our girls for the day, we were able to take both Scribe and Little Big Man to the hospital yesterday. We enjoyed a birthday dinner for Scribe in the lobby, topped off with birthday balloons from the Radigans. The Poff men had a great time together in the play area, and I'm so thankful my husband knows how to just "play" so well. :)
Here are a few pictures from yesterday. We're hoping and praying we'll find out today when Luke can come home. Thank you again for your prayers and your concern. We love you all!
~Scribe and Luke discovered the fun of volleyball even in a hospital
~the Men played some rounds of Uno Spin. Did you know there are a million versions of Uno?
~glad that MeMaw is here, even in and especially because of these circumstances
~sweet birthday balloons from friends that Scribe generously let Luke keep at the hospital with him....I can't believe I forgot to get Luke balloons while he's been here!
Love,

Love seeing these pictures. My children and I are still praying....
ReplyDeleteOh, I will pray for you sinus infection. No fun when Mommy is sick. And sinuses always makes me feel terrible.
Luke's eye is looking so much better. Sorry to hear that you have a sinus infection now. I will continue to keep you in my prayers.
ReplyDeletePS. I always enjoy seeing your pictures, you have a beautiful family!
Thank you, Karen and Blossom, for your continued prayers! I'm praying this infection will clear up on its own. Thank you both for your sweet words about our family.
ReplyDeleteHugs!

ReplyDeleteIt's a difficult time when I have to leave all the Poffs and head for home. I praise God that Luke is much better now and pray he willl continue to make a complete recovery. Love all the Poffs and the beautiful way they handle every situation, knowing God is in control. HUGS,
