Morning Catechism

We want our crystal balls. Christianized versions, of course.

We obsess over what God wants us to do with our lives. We'd love the plan to be set clearly before us so we never have to wonder about God's providence.

Meanwhile we ignore what He sets before us in His Word. We're enamored with receiving earth-shattering revelations, but we're bored with obedience.

Imagine, though, starting our days with two things in mind. One...Whose day it really is, and two...what we're supposed to do with it.

I teach this to my Littles, but it's a good reminder no matter how big or small you are.

Q. Who made this day?
A. God did.

Q. What does He tell us to do?
A. Rejoice and be glad in it.

How different our days are when we remind ourselves of these truths right from the beginning.

With love,

A good reminder to us all. And we find when we start the day right things usually go along much better. Praise God!

  10. I love that! I'm grateful for the reminder and your timing was perfect. I've been stressing as I am interviewing for a new job and am unclear where I'm being called. Now, when I start fretting, I'll just remind myself of who's day it is and what I am to do with it!
