"There are few interruptions on a snow day so you can give yourself over to a long book and not be jumping up every few minutes when someone comes to the door."
~Gladys Taber
In today's language that would be, "responding to your phone every time someone texts you or tweets something. " And I say that Mrs. Taber didn't have little children at home who can't wait to play in the snow, who spend 20 minutes getting dressed for it and sometimes only spend 2 minutes outside.
I bet, too, she didn't have lots of sighs of awe, the kind only Littles can offer as they are freshly in wonder of God's gift of snow. :) How glad I am that all of us like to cozy up with a good book every day and especially on days like this.
***This is our 800th post! :)

Wow! I never fail to be in awe of snow! When I see it begin to fall I get as excited as a child and my husband and son are still amazed that I do! These pictures are beautiful and although it's great to curl up with a book, going out into the fluffy white stuff is also great fun!
ReplyDeleteHope all of you are having a sweet weekend together!
Love,
Sandy
Congrats on 800 posts my precious friend!!!!

I love to look at snow, I think it's beautiful, and the pictures of your mountains are magnificicent, how can you not think of our Creator when you look out at those mountains. Back to snow, love looking at it and I don't mind walking in it everyone in a while but I would much prefer to be snug inside when it's happening
ReplyDeleteSo pretty-we just got rain here today-lots of it that we needed so PTL is came. Beautiful photos. I am trying to figure out what is going on with my camera-it doesn't seem to be focusing well on group shots-some people seem really out of focus - even on auto focus so I may need to take it somewhere to get looked at. Maybe it is just me-ha!
ReplyDeleteLoved looking at these-thanks for sharing.
Love you-read a good book for me today-we are celebrating Derek's 10th b-day today (since it was the day before Thanksgiving) with a small party with a few of his friends at our house today.
Hugs
Jill
Ooh, lovely snow!
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on 800 posts!
What GORGEOUS photos, my friend! Oh it's soooo pretty! We got some snow on this side of the mountain too, and I've had a lovely time going through the photos of Zoe and Sam playing in it this morning! Yes, snow days require careful and long bundling of kiddos, changing out wet mittens to two layers of socks on the hands, and then the required apré snow-play hot chocolate! No rest for the mamas and papas. But what a JOY!
ReplyDeleteLove you!
Tami
Looks like Christms in Wyoming - your photos are making miss home.
ReplyDeleteLove to you - and what a lovely way to start December - SO TRUE!

The views from your home are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 800th post! My goodness you live in a beautiful place. All I see when I look out my window are houses, houses, and more houses. Okay, maybe a tree here or there. Taking 20 minutes to get all the gear on to play outside for 2 minutes--I hear ya there.
