I don't like country music. Now before you ditch me, hear me out. As a child, I was forced to listen to those twangy lyrics while riding in the back seat of my parents' car. I was a sheltered child, but I still wondered about "Sleeping single in a double bed, thinking over things I'd wish I'd said," and "If lovin' you is wrong, I don't wanna be right."
That said, when I captured these picture of my two Dearies a few months ago, my first thought was, "They've made a country music video and didn't even know it."
Two girls.
Cowgirl boots.
On top of a vehicle.
Hair blowing in the wind.
Drama.
Pouty looks.
Singing.
There you go.

Ah....a happy ending. :)
Have fun with me! What would you, my very creative bloggy friends, name this sequence of sweetness?
You know. Something classic country, like, "My Sister Stomped On My Truck and Then On My Heart" or "How Can I Forgive Her For Eating the Last Twizzler?"
The good news is I'm not giving away a country music cd, but instead Andrew Peterson's Counting Stars album. This is WONDERFULLY ENCOURAGING and God-honoring music, and I know you'll be blessed by it! To enter, just leave a comment. A music video title would be fun, too, but it's not required. :) US only, please.
And if you do love country music, I hope we're still friends. :)
I'll draw a name on Friday, December 9th.
With love,
Trisha

Racin' on the hood of my chevy
ReplyDeleteExhaust in her hair, she ain't heavy,
she's my sister hitchin' a ride
with her cowgirl boots
and her twinkly eye cutes.
But it's a long long road so we're poutin'.
But there's a joy comin' on
so we're a shoutin'
Ooh, ooh, ooh!
Racin on the hood of our chevy.
Exhaust in our hair, we ain't heavy!
You may shoot me now. :-)
I don't think I can add to Petra's little diddy! Haha . The photos are adorable.
ReplyDeleteWOW Petra-that was good! :0 I am not a country music listener either but I did know about the songs you were talking about because I love music and have heard a lot over my years of life and it just sticks with me. Lyrics from songs I haven't heard in 20 years or more. Funny how music can touch places in your heart nothing else can-I think that is why I cry almost every week in the worship part of our service, it speaks to me in many ways. I love that we get to worship God and give Him glory through music.
ReplyDeleteThat being said these photos cracked me up-I was thinking she looks like how dare you take my boots from me-and here we are stuck on top a Chevy. I may be poutin' but tomorrow you'll be-when you find out you're wearin' on the wrong feet.
These are precious.
Thanks for sharing these and making me smile. :)
Hope this gets me a chance in the drawing.
Hugs-love you
Jill
Ha! Too cute! And I agree, Petra knocked it out of the park! Jill's was great too! My thought for this country song is "Sister, don't go boastin' 'bout cho hand-me-down boots" or "I ain't my sister's keeper, but I'm gonna set her straight 'bout dem pinky-pink boots" or to steal from Lyle "That's right, you're not from Texas!"
ReplyDeletePrecious photos as always, my friend. This was fun. And I'd love a shot at that CD!
Love to you!
Love the pics, especially the pink cowgirl boots! Petra....you got talent!
ReplyDeletenice post! thank you so much for sharing...God bless you...loves soraya
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that first photo, Trisha! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHow 'bout 'Sisters in Pink' or 'Seeing Pink at Twilight' or 'I'm Crazy Pink Over You' or 'My Little Pink Boots Haunt Your Dreams' 'You, Me, and My Pink Boots'
LOL!
I'm not much of a country fan myself! ;) Hubby loves southern gospel music so I try to listen to that! :)
This has cracked me up. Tammy yours was so cute too. Look out country music-a whole new field of writers out there awaits! lol :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great Tuesday my friend. We will be trying to stay warm. My blood has thinned out living in West Texas for 6 years-I am a wimp now-it is still really cold here this am. Hot Cocoa day for sure. :)
Love you
Jill
PS-My original post was supposed to say wearin' them on the wrong feet. Didn't proof read before I hit send. :(
So cute! Your girls are beautiful! I like country music, but I am not offended. Petras is very good. I am not very good at making up titles to songs. I will leave it to the other people.
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
Beth
I don't know any name of country music, but I must say (being a woman living closer to the Ecuator line), please have your little ones put on a sweater! LOL! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful pictures!
Now, if you still love me, please enter my name in the giveaway, friend!
Or, you can just choose Petra to win that CD. Her creativity amazes me!
ReplyDeleteLove you both!
Ok - Petra is just WAY too creative to compete with (that was GOOD).
ReplyDeleteThose two are so cute!
My daughter's love Andrew Peterson.
