"From David learn to give thanks for everything. Every furrow in the book of Psalms is sown with the seeds of thanksgiving."
~Jeremy Taylor (1613-1667)
I was able yesterday, because of help from friends, to take my Mom, Aunt, and Scribe to the hospital to see Luke. It was definitely good for him, and he spent most of the afternoon and evening in the lobby area with us. We also took him to the Child Life room which has lots of crafts and games and extends into an outside play area. Our friends, the Spencers, took Peep and Boo out for the day and were able to stop by the hospital, too, to give Luke some sweet cards and lots of cheer.
The greatest news yesterday was that Luke did great on his eye exam, testing 20/20! Please thank God with us for this great report! The opthamologist was very pleased with how his eye is looking sight-wise.
He is still on a very strong antibiotic that can damage the kidneys. They won't take him off of it until the cultures taken at the time of surgery come back, and that can take a couple more days. Please pray God would protect Luke's kidneys from any damage and that the cultures would come in sooner than expected.
I took lots of pictures yesterday....mainly as reminders of God's goodness and mercy. This is a hard time for Luke especially, and we want him to remember God's faithfulness as well as how He used others to bless us beyond measure.
Enjoy taking a peek into Luke's world as it is right now, and please continue to pray for his spirit, which is quite weary of lack of sleep (since they're doing nasal saline spray every hour) and the general poking and prodding that seems to make up the moments of his days.
Thanking you again for your prayers,

OHHHHH...thank you so much for all the pictures Trisha!!! It makes us feel like we're right there!! What a brave and courageous little man he is!! I'm so glad he was able to spend time with the family yesterday!! I know that had to make him feel so much better despite having to be in the hospital...I'm so glad his vision test went so well! Continuing to pray!!
ReplyDeleteLove you!

Trisha-
ReplyDeleteYour family is so precious! Thanks for keeping us updated...I have been praying for ya'll and will continue. I am so happy about the eye exam. That is wonderful news! God is so good!
I love the pictures, too, and I am so thankful that Luke is doing so well! I've kept you all in my thoughts and prayers. It's amazing that this could get so serious so fast. It had to be God's plan that the "only" doctor was right there when she was needed!
