When I was just 18, self-centered, bratty, and immature, I said, "I do." I'm sure there were a lot of skeptics present that day, at least more than my Mom ever told me about. :) I truly thought the world revolved around me, so it's no wonder that there were those who didn't think this marriage would last. I'd be the first to admit that I've been one of my Beloved's greatest and most painful sources of sanctification. Our marriage is a strong testimony of the grace of God, and I'm so thankful for the mercy He has poured out on us these many years. I pray He'll continue to bless us beyond belief, stretching us and growing us in ways we didn't think possible. Here's to many more years together, and to God be the glory.

Sorry I didn't have time to post on your actual anniversary, but that doesn't lessen the JOY I feel for your 23rd Anniversary. What a wonderful Christian family you two have created. Clyde and I will celebrate our 47th anniversary in November, and I was a very naive 18-year old when we married, too. I love the picture of the two of you, too!

ReplyDeleteWhat a special day - the 26th of September was my mom's birthday! She would have been 69 on Sunday. We sponsor a little girl in Rwanda, and we chose her because her birthday is the 26th too. She turned five. And now to learn of another reason to celebrate this sweet day - makes me smile!
