Necessities:
One sweet baby (older children may be branded as well)
Lipstick of a happy color (no black, please)
Mama Lips (Daddy lips don't make as great an impression)
An Eager-to-Dispense-Some-Sugah-Heart (that's sugar...an expression for kisses, normally heard in the Southern part of our country)
Instructions:
Sweetly embrace dear baby and plant a big dose of sugah on face. Any location will do.
Disclosure: This branding session was not staged and no baby wrangling was necessary. Rather it is the impulse of every mother to kiss, kiss, kiss her babies, and it is the instinct of every baby to delight in being kissed, kissed, kissed. Grandmothers are allowed to brand babies, too. Credit for the term of baby "branding" goes to this Mama's brilliant son, Ink, who was branded many times in his younger years, but now runs when he sees me pull out the pink lipstick.
I have kissed all my babies like this. We would go places and people would ask if they had a bruise on their head-it was were my lipstick had stained their forehead. lol!
ReplyDeleteHe is very kissable-I would have to be kissing that little face too. :)
Love you-hope you have a blessed day.
Awww!! :) So cute!
ReplyDeleteI have "branded" many a baby and kidlet and will continue this practice...very cute pic!
ReplyDeleteI usually comment on the baby but this time (as perfectly scrumptious as he is) I have to say that YOU are the cutest!! I love this post...
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Debbie
Awww, come on Corey! You don't like being branded any more?
ReplyDeleteAll the more for Cap'n, I guess. :)
Baby branding is preferred over cheek pinching. I still have sore facial memories of a cheek-pinching relative. :)
ReplyDeleteLove this!!!! Smack! There are few things sweeter in all the earth than lovin' up a Baby!

This remind me of my Grandma, for so many years she colored her hair jet black & wore bright red lipstick. (like most Grandmas, right? ;) She would squeeze us in her bosom, we could hardly breath, and leave her red mark on our faces! Thanks for the memory!
ReplyDeleteI used to brand my son when I would have to leave him in Sunday School or pre-school with a kiss on his hand. Some days I couldn't leave unless he had that kiss on his hand. Sweet picture!
ReplyDeletehaha! I love that kind of branding! :) and "lol" to Ink! ;)
ReplyDeleteAw, I'm glad there are so many fellow Baby Branders. :)
ReplyDeleteCU-UTE!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteSo precious. ! ! ! He is so precious, it would be hard not to
ReplyDeletekiss him.
HUGS,
MEMAW
