I Don't Want a Crystal Ball

How gracious God is in not letting us see all that a new year might hold for us. Instead, He teaches us to trust Him one trial or blessing at a time.

I would have been overwhelmed if God had shown me ahead of time how 2011 would unfold. I wouldn't have been able to enjoy the daily gifts He poured out on me for fear of what was around the corner. I wouldn't have understood the perfection of God's timing and provision in all things. I wouldn't have learned even more to walk by faith and not by sight.

Some of us will know great joy in 2012. Some of us will know the deepest sorrow ever. Some of us might know both. Whatever trials or blessings God gives us, may we all know more of our Savior, and may we both suffer and rejoice for His glory.

"Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us — looking unto Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith!" Hebrews 12:1-2. Look only, look always, look intently, to Jesus; run looking, work looking, fight looking, suffer looking, live looking, and die looking — to Jesus, who is at God's right hand in glory. Oh, look, look, look to Jesus!

  4. I'm with Ma..."Amen!" I have watched in as God gave you the grace to understand His "timing and provision in all things." And through it all, I am more and more glad that in 2011, I was able to "meet" you.

  9. Amen. I know we have endured much this year that I could have never done had I known ahead of time because the grace I needed to get through it at that time would not have been there. I know me too and I would have tried to change it which would not have been God's plan for me and the others involved which would have made the blessings and growing that came with them to have been changed and not His perfect plan for my life. So thankful that He never leaves us, walks through it all with us. I know many things will be difficult this year for my family with my sister, but I do not know what the future holds, but I know who holds that future and I am so grateful for that.
Love you friend. Praying 2012 is full of God's richest blessings for you and your family.
    Hugs
    Jill

  17. We aren't even promised tomorrow so I'm learning not to be concerned about it. God has it in his hand and I'm glad I don't know what this year holds. I'll watch it unfold and trust the Lord to prepare me for each step. Happy New Year Trisha!
