She's seen the good, bad, and the UGLY (maybe one day I'll share about our Christmas light tour adventure....), and she loves us still and even wrote nice things to me in the many BOOKS she gave me for Christmas! :)
And, I heard the words I didn't think I'd hear when she asked, "Do you think it would be more expensive to get a one way ticket next time?" What? An open-ended return date?? That would be lovely, Mom. Absolutely lovely.

How sweet! Hopefully next time it will be an extended stay :) Have a happy New Year!
ReplyDelete*Do you stay up on New Year's?? :)
Oh yes, my friend, but I have to say we'll be retiring a bit earlier this year since New Year's Day is on a Sunday. Typically, though, the friends we get together with on New Year's Eve are with us until about 2 in the morning.:) And you??
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad for your mom's visit. Lord wiling, He will give you the open-ended one soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you had a wonderful time with your mother. What a nice Christmas blessing.
ReplyDeleteA great blessing, indeed. So sorry that she's returned home - thanking God with you for your wonderful time - good, bad and ugly.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you Dear One,
Jojo
Thank you, my sweet friends and sisters in the LORD! My Mom is still here, but I'm glad she's already talking about "next time." :) Much love to you all and wishes for a 2012 that is full of much growth in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you are having a good time with your Mom remembering and making more memories!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you both-praying that God would work our all the details for an open ended ticket. What a joy. So glad that you are having such a wonderful visit too. Love you dear friend.

I'm so happy for you Trisha. May your visits together grow sweeter every time.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful New Year my friend.
Trisha,
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel. Mom came and stayed with us over Christmas. I love my Dad over three years ago and she has spent every Christmas with us since. She is in the process of selling her home to come and live with us. She is not in the best of health and we want to take care of her. I am an only child…she is the last of my first family that I have left. Want to spend as much time with her as the Lord will allow! Cherish those moments…we never know how long we will have them this side of glory.
Hope you had a great Christmas! jackie
I am so glad that you have enjoyed your mom's visit. You must be so excitied about the thoughts of an extended visit next time. Praying for you in the New Year
ReplyDeleteAw!!! That's just sweet right there and I am soooooo rejoicing with you that you get to spend such precious time with your mama. AND that she's already contemplating her return trip - what a blessing!

sounds like you had a very nice visit with your mother and wonderful for both of you to be able to spend the time without your dad together. AND I love that recipe for the corn! Kettle corn is my favorite! Going to make it for New Years Eve when we come home from church and watch our movie together! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThis post brought tears to my eyes. What a gift to have this wonderful and encouraging relationship with your mom. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! Sounds like a wonderful, joyous time. I know for me personally, time spent with my parents is one of my favorites! So thankful the Lord gave you and her such a beautiful time together :) Love you!
