The foil keeps the drippings away from the chicken, and the meat falls from the bones with this one. Yum. Yum.
Slow Cooker Sticky Chicken
2 t. salt
1 T. paprika
2 t. chili powder
1 t. onion powder
1 t. thyme leaves
1/2 t. garlic powder
1/2 t. black pepper
4 lbs. chicken drumsticks, skinned if desired
foil for bottom of crockpot
~recipe from creativelydomestic.com
Mix spices in bowl. Rinse drumsticks and thoroughly pat dry with a paper towel. Rub the spice mix onto the chicken. Crumple the foil and put in bottom of 4 qt. crockpot. Top foil with spice-rubbed chicken pieces. Cook on low for 8-12 hours.
For our family, I doubled the spices, lined a 6 qt. crockpot with the crumpled foil, and cooked 13 drumsticks.
Enjoy!
Love,
Trisha

Thank you for this! I'm always looking for crock pot recipes! This looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThis chicken looks so good, Trisha. I have a similar one for my recipe blog. Looks like you kept the skin on and I think that's fine. Shouldn't be afraid of the skin if it's an organic chicken.

Yummy...I'm going to give this a try. Thank you for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd just so you know...I've made that kettle corn SO many times! We *love* it.
Love to you!
Camille
I really like crock pot recipes - I will be sure to try this one. I've never done chicken in the crock pot - usually ribs and soups.

Thanks for sharing your recipe, Trisha. I use a similar recipe for a whole chicken on top of foil. I combine crushed garlic, dried oregano, McCormick Montreal chicken seasoning, and salt.
ReplyDeleteThis looks good! I cook my chicken all the time in the crock pot and it makes the chicken so juicy and tender! I'm going to try these spices the next time! Enjoy your Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recipe. Will take
ReplyDeleteto the store and hopefully get all
the spices I need.Looks delicious.

YUM. (And hi, Memaw!)
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this yummy deliciousness, my friend.
This looks so yummmmmmy! I'm not sure how the foil keeps the juices away from the chicken (seems like it would catch the juices and then the chicken would sit in the juices??) but I'm going to try it.
ReplyDeleteGracias! This one is a keeper ! XO
ReplyDeleteI am ridiculously overexcited to find that you're blogging here. I've missed a Multitude of Mercies and your wise counsel so much.
ReplyDeleteLots of posts for me to catch up on here. Hurrah!
