| There once was a little boy who loved to roam the dusty roads with his best friend, Exterminator. This was no mindless wandering, I tell you. He was on a mission to save the precious Princess from this... |
Don't believe the tales you've heard about the Horned Lizard. It's much bigger than it looks in the pictures, and it has a special appetite for blue-eyed, blond-haired maidens.
When he heard the Princess was in trouble, Knight Jedediah let it be known in the streets that he was coming to the rescue. It's been said that he sang one of his favorite hymns, "The Son of God Goes Forth to War," and the echoes of his voice caused every evil thing to shiver with great fear.
Discovering that he needed a bit of height to better ambush his enemy, Knight Jedediah enlisted the help of his faithful brother, Sir Jake.
"I heard that villain of a lizard is hiding out in that cactus over there, my brother."
"Methinks I have espied him. No longer will he torture the Princesses of the land."
"Stay back, dear brother! No one told us this foul creature could fly! But, he's still no match for me and the Exterminator."
We pause here to let you know victory was Knight Jedediah's, but we spare you the evidence lest more tender hearts be overwhelmed by the blood and guts and innards strewn everywhere unsightly mess.
Aha. This was the Princess. She beamed with great respect and gratitude for her brave knight of a brother.
And we caught the knight himself in a moment of jovial celebration as he savored this battle won and pondered the mighty deeds he'll do when he's a few feet taller.
The End.
**It is the right of the author to mix knights and guns and tennis shoes and make the story elements altogether inconsistent. It is the duty of the reader to put prejudices aside and enjoy the beauty and truth of boy saving girl. :)

What a brave young man. All sisters should be so blessed! I can't believe how big he is getting already!
ReplyDeleteAshleigh,
DeleteI can't believe how big he is, either! It seems those growing up days always go by too fast.
Ahhh, the comedy of life played out in ones so little. What a wonderful picture story. Love it!
ReplyDeleteDo you scrapbook your family stories for your kiddos to keep around? They are priceless - I am sure you had a house full of giggles today.
Love to you,
Jojo
Jojo,
DeleteThis blog really is my scrapbook. I need to make it a priority to start having the years bound in a book. I do think it will be a treasure for our children. I was reading over past entries last night and am amazed at the things I have forgotten as well as the words the Lord has given me to express my gratitude to Him for His mercies and provision. Love you, too!
I enjoyed this story of the wee brave-hearted knight! I'm afraid his cuteness got in the way of seeing him as very daunting though! Ah, and the young princess...such sweetness and beauty. Your kids are all so beautiful. Have you decided what you will name your little one in waiting? Or did you tell me and I have forgotten?!
ReplyDeleteIt's my Shaun's birthday today but we'll have to wait until Tuesday to visit and give him his birthday hugs and kisses.
Have a love-filled weekend with those kiddos!
Love,
Sandy
