Sunbathin'... well, sort of...

Now I'm sure all of you have seen beaches in the summer - you know, when there's so many visitors you can't even see the sand, and you're in danger of falling into any one of the millions of holes dug by children with pails and shovels, and you have to use a whole bottle of sunscreen to avoid bein' baked redder than a kidney bean... Yeah, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

Well, these two fine lookin' guinea pigs found a way to beat the crowd, the pitfalls, and the heat (without using sunscreen). As you can see, they decided they would enjoy some time on our porch, out breathin' the fresh air on this sunny day. Why, they're even set up with a sunshade (umbrella), a picnic lunch (red cabage & grapes), and a super-sized beverage (waterbottle). =)

Just so you know, in case I post about them some other time, the two guinea pigs are called Beric (gold & white), and Beethoven (silky brown). Beric was named after the hero of one of my favorite historical fiction novels, called Beric the Briton by G. A. Henty. You might have already guessed why we named the other one Beethoven. But just in case you haven't, I'll explain. It is said that the great composer Beethoven had problems keeping his hair in good order. In the picture above, you will take note that our friend the guinea pig has the same problem (those pesky ol' cowlicks) ! ;)

I love you all and hope you have a fun filled school day. It's late so I guess I'll go to bed. I'll check in with you tomorrow.
