I love Rev. M'Cheyne's reminder that the Scriptures read "both for family and private readings, would be greatly illuminated if they were preceded by a moment's silent prayer" of Psalm 119:18.
So, I made this very simple bookmark to help us each remember to cry out for understanding before we read as well as to remember the joy and the privilege of hearing God's voice first in the morning.

I remember how mama always started her day with reading the Bible as soon as she got up. That was her daily routine. And she liked her cup of coffee as she read her Bible. She was a beautiful and wonderful mom and she will always be missed.
