"Likewise, we must also work at getting ready for Sunday. We cannot worship if our hearts are full of secular responsibilities, bitter anguishes, old guilts, and aching sins. We cannot praise with equanimity if we are harried by unfulfilled commitments, distraught over incomplete promises, unsettled because of the Sunday morning fracas. We must ready ourselves physically. We must ready ourselves spiritually. We must ready ourselves emotionally and psychologically. This takes practice which will at first seem difficult. Establishing new disciplines is always exhausting."

Poff Clan,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing Ready for The Lord's Day. I find it very difficult to ready myself for Sunday. Satan seems to be working especially hard on Sunday mornings.
But, like you've told me before Queen Mom...."Get up, and Go.It will be difficult at first, but then it becomes a habit". I hope that by going to church this morning we have begun to grow this habit.
Thanks for all your encouragement.

I still love the picture of your beautiful angel when I log on to your blog. I don't think I accomplish all the things you have listed before making it to church on Sundays. It definitely takes practice. Love you, dear daughter.

Getting ready to go to church on Sunday definitely needs to be a priority and also takes planning and dedication. And I have to admit I fall way short and need a big Push to get me moving.
