Thankful Thursday-The Extraordinary Ordinary

Seek to cultivate a buoyant, joyous sense
of the crowded kindnesses of God in your daily life.
~Alexander Maclaren, 1826-1910

I'm thankful for a family of bookworms--though sometimes the book-love can be frustrating. "Everyone put your books away, please!" I know--what a problem to have!

I'm thankful for little hands that love to work.

I'm thankful for the cutest Cucumber-Eating Duo ever.

I'm thankful for a little boy who loves dirt.

He's Little Boy Wonder, I say.

I'm thankful for the sweet songsters that visited the other morning. They blessed me with music and beauty.

How stunning that blue is on the desert canvas.

I'm thankful for healthy children who love to run and play outside.

There's no crisis right now. Life is beautifully predictable (ok, one of the children's car sickness yesterday wasn't predictable, but still...). The weather has been warmer, and we're enjoying the sunshine and walks and breathing in the fresh air. We're healthy. The days are full of lessons and reading and laughing and fighting and eating and praying and praising.

And there's nothing ordinary about this ordinary. I find it most extraordinary.

Thanks be to God!

With love,
Trisha

  2. Beautiful pictures! So happy that the pregnancy is going well and the children are all healthy. Love the reading at the table. I love to read also, but don't find much time for it now. My girls hate to read and that breaks my heart. I come from a family of readers, except for my dad.
    Have a blessed day!

  4. Sweet, sweet faces! Loved the photos and the thankful heart my sweet friend. Bless you today-glad you are all healthy. We all have had a stomach but one day at a time this week-so I have been washing a whole lot of sheets-not sure why it always happens at night in bed but thankful this is Spring Break here so everything has been cancelled and we are just chillin at home.
    Love you

  12. Thank you, everyone. I am feeling quite well. My prayer is that my Crohn's problems won't worsen. Otherwise, I've been told I'll have to go on steroids, and I want to avoid that, especially knowing the complications it causes with a c-section. BUT, I am not complaining. God is so gracious, and I'm overwhelmed every day by His mercies to me. Love and hugs to you all. I'm so thankful for you!
